Waverley

For anyone enchanted by Ms. Warnes journey, Waverley claims to be the World’s last seagoing paddle steamer. Launched on October 2nd, 1946, Waverley post-dates the SS Pacific (1849) by one hundred years. Waverley was built on the Clyde and has a steel hull construction, unlike the timber hull of Pacific, but in many other respects, it is similar.

Waverley is presntly moored on the Clyde adjacent to Glasgow Science Centre, but will be heading around the British coast during 2025.

PS I hope I’ve got the right SS Pacific.
